Dekoriti Training Center

One of the few woodworking training centres authorised and certified by the Government of Kosovo, founded because the region has no shortage of woodworking companies but a serious shortage of skilled people to staff them.

A success story, filmed at the centre.

Enhancing Youth Employment, a project of the Swiss Development & Cooperation Office in Kosovo, filmed at the Dekoriti Training Center and followed one trainee from the classroom into a job in the industry.

Why it exists

You cannot buy a skilled hand. You have to grow one.

The Training Center sits beside our factory, in an area with one of the highest concentrations of woodworking companies in Kosovo. Despite that, highly skilled professionals are scarce. Rather than compete for the few, we decided to train more.

Through hands-on workshops, seminars and apprenticeships, the centre equips people with the technical expertise this industry demands. It also gives our own factory, and the companies around us, the bench strength the region has been missing.

“With thirty years of experience in the timber industry, Dekoriti has filled every corner of your home with more beautiful and better-made furniture. Today we are opening the doors to a new generation.”

Milan Design Week 2025

From a classroom in Kosovo to Villa Bagatti Valsecchi.

From 7–13 April 2025, the Dekoriti Training Center and Dekoriti took part in Milan Design Week, showing as part of Alcova, the independent platform for cutting-edge design, in the historic setting of Villa Bagatti Valsecchi.

The pieces on show were the result of months of research, prototyping and design development through the Collectible Furniture Design Program, developed by the Training Center in partnership with Atelier TOGIGI. Our booth was deliberately raw: brutalist in reference, honest about its materials, and unmistakably rooted in Kosovo.

For our students it was a first exhibition on a global stage, and a first chance to meet designers, curators, galleries and press from across the world.

Training profiles

Four routes into the industry.

Taught beside a working factory, on the same machines and materials used to fill client orders.

  • 01

    Carpentry

The foundation of the trade: timber preparation, machining, joints and assembly, taught as hands-on workshop practice.

  • 02

    Furniture Construction & Interior Design

How a piece is conceived and how it is built, from drawing and material selection through to a finished, fitted interior.

  • 03

    Digital Manufacturing

The skills a modern workshop now runs on: production drawings, CNC programming and machining, and the transfer from digital file to finished component.

  • 04

    Painting & Illustration

Surface work and decorative finishing, where the appearance of a piece is decided long after its construction is complete.

Furniture manufactured by Dekoriti for Atelier TOGIGI, exhibited at COLLECTIBLE Brussels

COLLECTIBLE Brussels 2024

Design authorship theirs. Execution ours.

From 7–10 March 2024, signature pieces by Belgian designer Thomas Van Noten, founder of Atelier TOGIGI, were exhibited at COLLECTIBLE in the Vanderborght Building in Brussels. Dekoriti was the woodworking and production partner behind them.

Our contribution: technical development for manufacturing, material selection and preparation, CNC machining and component production, specialist woodworking, assembly, surface preparation, finishing and quality control before exhibition. The design language, and the credit for it, belong to Atelier TOGIGI.
